Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be an experienced quilter or in a guild to attend?

Not at all! Quilters of all experience levels are welcome — from beginners to seasoned stitchers. You don’t need to belong to a guild or group to join us. Our retreats are relaxed, encouraging, and full of fellowship.

What’s provided in the sewing area?

Each guest has their own L-shaped sewing station with a drink holder, small trash bag, cutting mat, and LED lamp. Shared tools include irons, ironing boards, a large cutting table, design boards, and both electric and manual AccuQuilt GO! cutters with many dies.

Are pets or children allowed at the retreat? Can my a spouse join me?

We love them both, but the retreat is a dedicated sewing getaway for adults only — no pets or children, please.

Do I need to bring a project?

Most guests bring their own quilt projects, UFOs (unfinished objects!), or new patterns to start —we recommend but you don’t have to! We also offer sewing kits for sale and a pop-up shop right at the retreat, so you can find something new to work on or pick up extra supplies without leaving the room. Whether you bring your own or choose a kit, you’ll have plenty to keep those sewing machines humming!

What else is there to do in Paducah?

So much! From the National Quilt Museum and Hancock’s of Paducah to riverfront murals, shops, and local dining — Paducah is full of quilting inspiration and Southern charm. Visit our Things to Do page for local favorites.
